After the parsing mechanism update, tracking the position of Videos appearing on Google Universal and YouTube became way easier. This update is useful, especially for users with hundreds of streaming videos, as it is no longer required to add as a custom value alias the URL of each video in their YouTube account. Now, the ranking position of each video appearing in the SERPs retrieved by AWR for the set pt tracked keywords is reported based on the Channel's name/URL as follows:
- when monitoring the positions of Videos appearing on Google Universal, theChannel's nameis to be added as an additional alias.
- when monitoring Videos' positions on YouTube, theChannel's URLshould be inserted as an alias.
The Channel name/URL can be inserted as an alias from the Project Settings > Overview section
💡
1) The match by video URL is still possible, in case one needs to restrict the tracking only to certain Videos.
2) For the existing projects having multiple video URLs added as aliases nothing changed. The positions of the selected URLs will be reported exactly as before the update.
