The latest AWR search volume metric is
Quarterly Search Trends
. This comes as an addition to the Searches
, Local Searches
, Global Search Volume
, and Search Trends
already available metrics so you can have an even more clear picture over the number of times a query gets searched on Google, how this number fluctuates from month to month and whether it has been influenced by seasonality especially in the months with a major holiday such as Halloween of Christmas. All five search volume metrics are based on the data retrieved from Google Ads' Keyword Planner tool and are defined as follows:
- Searchesrepresents the average monthly number of searches that a keyword receives on Google, country-wide, as reported in the last 30 days. The searches are relevant for the monitored country.
- Local Searchesrepresents the average search volume that a keyword receives during a month, narrowed down to a specific location, as reported in the last 30 days. The searches are relevant for the monitored custom location.
- Quarterly Search Trendsrefers to the evolution of searches in the last three months compared to the previous three months. The upward or downward trend is computed by comparing the total number of Searches a keyword received for the last three months with the total number from the three months immediately before.
- The Global Search Volumerefers to the number of average monthly searches that a keyword receives across all the locations and in all languages supported by Google's Keyword Planner tool. For more in-depth information about this metric please check this article.
